This Privacy Policy explains how ExpensesBook ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. By using ExpensesBook you agree to the terms described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information (Not save in remote server, only local)

When you sign in with Google, we receive the following from your Google Account through Firebase Authentication:

• Your email address
• Your display name
• Your Google profile photo URL
• A unique Google user identifier

We do not receive or store your Google password.

1.2 Content you create

ExpensesBook stores the content you enter into the App so you can access it across devices. This includes:

• Expense items, amounts, and labels
• Sections and pages you create
• Timestamps for when entries are created and modified
• Preferences and settings tied to your account

This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account and on your device's local database (Room).

1.3 Analytics and crash data

To keep the App stable and improve features, we collect aggregated, non-identifying technical data through Google Firebase services:

• Crash reports, including stack traces and the device model on which a crash occurred
• App usage events (e.g. screens opened, feature interactions)
• Device and OS version, app version, language, and region
• An anonymous installation identifier

We do not link analytics or crash data to your name, email, or any directly identifying information beyond an anonymous identifier.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and keep your data secure
• To sync your expenses and pages across your devices
• To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve App stability
• To understand which features are used so we can prioritise improvements

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content for advertising. We do not share your content with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

ExpensesBook uses the following services provided by Google. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Authentication — account sign-in. Google Privacy Policy
• Cloud Firestore — cloud storage for your expenses and pages
• Firebase App Check (Play Integrity) — protects backend services from abuse
• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics — crash reporting and usage analytics
• Google Sign-In via Credentials API — sign-in flow on Android

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in data centres operated by Google. All data transmitted between the App and our backend is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to your data is restricted by Firebase security rules so that only you can access your own account data.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your associated content is removed from our active databases. Aggregated analytics and crash data may be retained for up to 90 days for stability monitoring.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information by editing it directly in the App
• Delete your account and associated content by contacting us at the email below
• Withdraw consent by signing out and uninstalling the App

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

ExpensesBook is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced through the App or via email where appropriate.
